DIY Evaluation / Evaluation Inspirations

On Top Of The Box Evaluation {Blog Post Rewind}

Ah! The first day of the Cancer sign (June 22-July 22) is here and that means I am 30 days away from hitting the big _ _!

(specifics aren’t necessary here)

The On Top of The Box Evaluation blog is also turning 1 in just a few short weeks!!! YAY!!!

I thought it would be fitting to highlight a few posts from the beginnings of the blog to highlight how far it’s come!

My very 1st post and top read:

Paying Homage:Ralph Tyler “The Father of Education Evaluation”-Part 1

Did you do a really cool evaluation, but somehow you forgot about it along the way…as you moved onto the next thing?

Looking Through Your Evaluation Closet

Were you in Anaheim last year??? Share your highlights from the AEA Annual Conference:

My AEA Conference 2011 eXperience!

If you haven’t noticed, I love music, check out this example of using it to compose the perfect practice:

Play Your Horn!!! Play Your Piano Man!!!

Are you a kung fu survey master? If so, you may want to check this one out…don’t be afraid to leave a few tips!!!

Masters of Survey Design

I made a few reflections after looking at some of the previous posts…

  • Back then posts happened when they happened (thus the lack of subscribers and traffic!)
  • There were very few links, which you will see (link! link! link! to provide people with somewhere to go,and to show that you’re not way too into yourself to read other material and incorporate it into your post)
  • Stay true to who you are, while keeping your readers likes and needs in mind (no need to add in fluff if you’re not “feeling it”)
  • Follow up on past posts (many of these could use some updates or feedback from readers, they’re no good just chilling in the archives)
  • Do touch ups on previous posts to enhance them a little or to make corrections, try to make them more well rounded and complete when reusing (I need to take this advice myself!)

It’s always great to look back at where you started to provide encouragement and inspiration. Go ahead, flip through your archives and see what treasures you can find.

Enjoy the weekend! 🙂

  1. Well, well, well you’ve come a long way my dear. Perhaps it would be fitting to host a party to celebrate the 1st Birthday of your blog. A Blog Birthday….hmmm I like that!
